Services
I meet with many different types of people: men, women, adults, adolescents, those who are looking for a new way to eat to lose weight and those people who are suffering from an eating disorder.
There are a variety of different treatment options depending on the severity of your symptoms.
Outpatient*
You meet with a Registered Dietitian (RD), therapist, psychiatrist and physician (MD) to monitor all the different aspects of the ED. Over time you should be able to meet the caloric requirements needed to maintain a body weight that is appropriate for your age. Appointments with an RD will be weekly until it is evident you can eat and other biometric indicators are being met (blood pressure, pulse, temperature). The meal plan will be determined on an individual basis.
Intensive Outpatient
You meet for multiple hours (4-6) at a time, many to most days of the week. During the stay you will have group sessions with others, led by a therapist. Types of groups include: therapy, art therapy, relaxation, nutrition, psycho-drama. You will be expected to eat at least one meal and/or snack with peers and a professional.
Residential/Inpatient
You will move into a facility where you can receive 24 hour support in relation to eating and therapies. You will be eating 3 meals and snacks with peers and staff. Calories will be determined by an RD and adjusted as needed. You will participate in many different groups and individual sessions during your stay.
*At this point I offer outpatient services. If you are in need of more intensive nutrition therapy I will advise you of this. If you are a minor I will need to inform your family of the need for a higher level of care.
